I fall into the group of following almost everyone who follows me... I think I can find insight in the statements made by almost anyone. I can also find humor in most.
My qualifications are simple, just have enough updates for me to get a feel for your style. (I tend to follow writers and graphic designers as well as technical types more frequently.)
I do unfollow unfollowers for the reason you mention, we obviously don't have similar points of view. And don't care about numbers.
I also unfollow anyone who uses twitter to simply try to sell, and I don’t plan on wearing makeup so they tend to be uninteresting.

I go back and forth on my 'personal ways' that I handle Twitter. And I guess that's ok, rolling with the tide - lol - the tide of my preferences. ;)
I had heard of SocialToo, but, never looked into it - after reading this post, I'm heading there now to check it out!
